Tips on Traveling Light by TravelPro Luggage Outlet

main

Traveling isn’t a simple task anymore. There are baggage restrictions and fees that many local travelers aren’t used to. If your luggage is over the limit (usually 50 pounds), you will be charged astronomical fees which will leave you feeling like you might as well just stay home!

Here are a few tips for packing lightly and avoiding those ridiculous fees:

If you will need sweaters and warm clothing, wear layers and bulky items when you travel. If you think you might need a coat on your trip, wear it on the plane. Don’t worry about the heat on the plane, you can always remove the sweater/jacket and store it in the overhead compartment on the plane.

Restrict yourself to no more than three pairs of shoes. Bring two pairs of comfortable shoes and formal pair. Plan on a pair of sneakers and flipflops for your comfortable pair depending on the weather.

If you’re traveling to some place warm and exotic like Hawaii, Fiji, or Tahiti, packing light is a breeze! Pack extra swimsuits and summer dresses which weigh practically nothing at all!

Pack clothes that can be easily washed and dried. Many hotels offer dry-cleaning services which will help you to re-wash those jeans and pair them with a different top and shoes to create an entirely new appearance.

Don’t pack full sized toiletries – stick with the travel-sized toiletries or purchase them when you arrive at your destination. That will save on plenty of weight in your luggage!

Check your specific airline’s baggage requirements and stick to them. This will help you avoid having to pay extra fees and hassles when checking-in. Begin with purchasing lightweight luggage – you are already starting out ahead of the game!
